Producer Steve Monistere was staging jazz and blues concerts there when he was approached with the idea of producing a laser show.
Monistere had never seen a laser show, and reluctantly agreed to give the idea a try. Both shows sold out and the rest, as they say, is history, according to a press release.
He then began to improve the show and it began to gather steam as it rolled across the United States to packed houses.
Now, after more than two decades of playing theaters throughout the world, the Laser Spectacular is the world’s longest touring laser show.
“Pink Floyd’s music is very dramatic and visual,” said producer Monistere. “You can imagine images when you listen to Pink Floyd’s music. Without any lighting effects at all, there is still a show in your mind. Now imagine using lasers, lighting, video and other special visual effects to interpret what your mind is ‘seeing’, and that is why people love this show so much. It touches on all of their senses.”
Surrounded by walls of concert quality sound, Laser Spectacular carries listeners away on a mind-expanding journey driven by cutting-edge effects, high-powered lasers, hi-def-large screen video projection, and special lighting effects, according to promotional materials. The audience is confronted with an array of visual displays, choreographed to the Pink Floyd soundtrack.
