“One of the most beautiful sights in dance is American Ballet Theatre in full flight.” – New York Post
One of the world's great dance companies, American Ballet Theatre (ABT) has built a repertoire unmatched by any other company. Over its rich history, the company has danced all of the great full-length ballets of the 19th century. Long dedicated to maintaining these great traditions of the past while forging a vital and leading-edge future, ABT has commissioned works by all of the great choreographic geniuses of the 20th century.
On their 16th engagement at The Music Center, ABT will perform Le Corsaire, the classic Russian tale first performed in 1856 and re-imagined by ABT 130 years later. The rip-roaring tale, full of pirates, slave girls and swashbuckling action is staged by Anna-Marie Holmes after choreography by Marius Petipa and Konstantin Sergeyev, and features a new production design from Christian Prego and costume designs by Anibal Lapiz.
