One of the great rock & roll bands of our generation, the GOO GOO DOLLS, return to the road next month in support of their Gold-certified album, LET LOVE IN with a stop at The Greek Theatre on June 17. The band’s eighth studio album, produced by Glen Ballard and the band, has already spawned four hit singles to date, including the current single and title track, “Let Love In.” As reported in December, the Goo Goo Dolls now hold the record for “Most Top 10 Hits at Hot AC Radio in History,” with twelve consecutive tracks at that format.
Due to demand from fans for more, an expanded edition was released in February. The revised edition includes a DVD component containing live performances, music videos and a pair of acoustic versions of tracks from LET LOVE IN.
Since forming in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls have evolved from a scrappy punk-influenced trio into the platinum-selling, chart-topping act behind such radio staples as “Name,” “Iris,” “Slide,” and “Here is Gone.” Along the way, singer/guitarist John Rzeznik and company left Buffalo, N.Y. for Los Angeles, but Rzeznik soon found that L.A. isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be.
Special guest Lifehouse is best known for their 2000 hit “Hanging by a Moment” from their debut album No Name Face. The single won a Billboard Music Award in 2001. The band recently finished their fourth album entitled Who We Are, which is due to be released in June.
